Children often look up to those who inspire them the most. They can range from Scientists, for exploring and researching new ways of performing tasks or creating new inventions, Engineers, for solving problems of all kinds using theoretical knowledge and understanding technology, to medical practitioners, for saving people’s lives in many ways. Whilst there are many more occupations that fall into the list of inspirational careers, it is apparent that in one way or another, fundamental requirement for an understanding in English and Mathematics is critical.  It goes without saying that the ‘11 Plus’ experience is therefore a stepping stone into a bright future, one that allows every individual to reach heights through hard work and independent of their intelligence and ability alone. As quoted by the late Stephen Hawking, the brightest Scientist in our generation, in his inspirational advice to children in an interview back in 2010:

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet”

“Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it.”

Stephen Hawking
